We knew that we were through the summer heat when the temperature failed to get into the 30’s, and then a cloud cover and a breeze which strengthened during the day had everyone just a bit cool by day’s end.
The field today was 56 (43 men and 13 ladies), five more than the equivalent game last year, and a disappointment after the timesheet registered over 70 players earlier in the week, but which dwindled as illness overtook a number of players. There was one new member. With the cards not printed for us, players had to take time to check that they had correct handicaps.
The Fairways were well grassed, but players had a bit of walking to do on those holes with sections roped off, and this held up play for those players sharing a buggy who hit to opposite sides of the Fairway. The Greens were in great condition but proved too big of a challenge for many.
The Urn was already boiling for the early birds, and the hamburger lunches were once again ready for even the first to complete their games.
Scores of 37 and 38 were the best on the day and ensured that Miguel Cufi and Lorraine Videroni won their Division’s while Gana Arumugam’s 33 points saw him take home the Division 2 trophy. Shiela Goodbun’s shot of the day was her successful 2nd shot to the 18th Pin which went into the hole for a birdie score.

1. Players were spread throughout the Course and made photos too difficult to take today.
The next game is at Lowood on Monday 8th May. It will be 8.30am Shotgun start. The Timesheet is now out at Rosewood.
