A fine Sunny 30 degrees day with the higher than usual humidity following last week’s very good rain, making conditions a little uncomfortable for a big part of the day.
The numbers today were lower than expected with 80(64 men and 16 ladies), who weren’t put off by the expectation, of a few, that the Course would still be too wet to enjoy the game. It wasn’t. There were 6 returning members and one new member, as well as a visitor from Kapundal in South Australia.
The volunteer groundsmen had done an excellent job to have the Course in such good condition considering the effort that they had to put in after the period of heavy rain. The Greens were in very good condition except for the couple which required relief from some repair work.
Wonder woman Mary Gibson even had some jam drops in the biscuit packets and then personally took charge of taking the lunch orders prepared by the Rosewood ladies too.
Graeme O’Connor, Ken Parker and Ailsa Brown all won by two shots today. The 11th hole was a difficult one today for the three Pin Shots as the surrounds in the front of the Green were quite soft.
Photos.
1. Just the two to make visitor Greg Jones feel welcome to our group for a game.
2. No need to be anxious about this shot, Sarah hit it well.
3. There was every need for Graham to be anxious here as it went a wee bit left.
4. Ken was lucky I saw this one arrive or it could have disappeared into the soft ground when I drove off.
5. A first win with the Vets is enough to make anyone smile.
The next game will be held at Ipswich City on Monday 19th April. It will be an 8.30am Shotgun start. The Timesheet is at Rosewood Golf Club.
