The temperature continues to be in the low 30’s and with a clear sky and moderate humidity the shade of trees was always welcome. Play was delayed for a start after the non-appearance of two members which prevented an early dispatch to the Tees.
The number of players today was only 60(50 men and 10 ladies) only one more than the low number in the corresponding game last year. There was one returning member and one new member.
The Fairways were well presented but play was often slowed with players looking for balls just off the closely mown areas where the length of the grass prevented a quick location of balls. Comments from many players indicated a satisfaction with the surface of the Greens and the reliability of putts staying online and with an even roll.
The pre-game Tea, Coffee and biscuits got the day off to a good start and the post-game lunch offerings catered well for player needs.
Les Smith’s 39 points and the 38 of Des Davies saw the playing pair each win by a shot. Pauline Rogers also returned a 38 for an easy 4 shot win in her Division. Actually, Les Smith also won the correspponding game last year. The Arumugam’s both won Pin shots much to the delight of the others in their playing group.
Photos. Sorry, none again today.
