Event 5 – Boonah

With the cloud cover all day, the temperature didn’t reach the mid-thirties and conditions were very pleasant.

The field was 83 (65 men and 18 ladies), a number which meant that players got the chance to interact socially with the groups in front and behind where some delays occurred later in the day, though play did move reasonably well throughout.

The Course had a great grass cover and in some of the rough it paid to watch carefully where the ball finished. The Greens were in their usual top condition.

Tea or Coffee was available at the Bar and there was a good player response to the two lunch menu alternatives.

In the men’s Divisions, Graeme O’Connor’s consistency through the day gave him a win and Ray Lemon followed the tradition of many First Vet game players for the other win. Pauline Rogers and Angie Arumugam were both looking for their second win of the year and Pauline got it today on countback from Angie.

Photos.

1. An eye-pleasing addition to the Course.

2. Not a long putt, but one needing some care.

3. The camera is quick, but Bryan’s swing is faster, and he hadn’t let the club go if you look closely.

4. This photo tells its own story.

5. The Club hadn’t installed these lights in case we got in late, they were already a welcome installation in the lunchroom.

The next game is an 8.30am Shotgun Start at Gailes on Monday 1st March. The Timesheet is located at Rosewood Golf Club.
