Event 4 – Laidley

The temperature reached the high 30’s and conditions were not helped by the ‘Laidley Breeze’ which was hot as well. The heat caused two players to finish play early.

The field was 61 (49 Men and 12 Ladies), 14 down on the corresponding game last year. The numbering of the holes caused some confusion until players found their new starting hole and followed the sequence of holes on the scorecard.

The Course has not benefitted from the amount of rain received at many other areas and, with Lake Dyer also extremely low, the Greens were the only part of the Course showing that colour and they were very well presented.

A welcoming cup of tea or coffee was served to those interested and the Burger supply as the game proceeded worked well.

Glenn Kermond scored well to record his second win in a row while John Osborne and Ann Hughes both got up by one shot.

1. The first and second Fairways. How different they would be with water.

2. The only place to be today while waiting for hit-off.

3. These two made quick work of their Burgers and then got on with play.

4. A great shot here by Angie, but where the next shot finishes, she had to wait 2 hours to discover.

5. Cameron’s 33 won him a ball, but John and Ann had a lot more to celebrate.

The next game is at Boonah on Monday 1st March. It is an 8.30am Shotgun start. Covid registration is required and a lunch order sheet will be located at the bar.
