A very hot day was predicted and so it turned out to be. The clouds were very few and the trees on the Course never seemed to be where play took place. By day’s end, many were red faced and sweating profusely. After the game, the air conditioning in the clubhouse was very welcome and the cold refreshments brought us all back to reality.
Players numbered 65 (54 men and 11 ladies), a great support for a club that makes us feel so welcome and somehow produces the required number of buggies each visit. Of the count above, 6 were renewing members. Play got under way 10 minutes early because of the timely arrival of players.
The Course was in its usual top condition thanks to the volunteers who make every effort to get things right for our visit. Thanks fellas. The Greens had the same attention and all putts kept the line the contours allowed.
Again, the scones provided were still warm and the jaboticaba jam was freshly made as well – what a treat. The very healthy salad lunch was just what everyone was hoping for, and the sweets (with home made pudding) were enjoyed as well. Thanks volunteers for your efforts.
The locals are almost impossible to stop on their home Course, taking 3 off the 4 men’s trophies. Bob Gargano with 45 points and Bernie Moore with 36 took the main trophies. In the Ladies section the winners were both visitors with the winner, for the first time, Mary Smith. The locals only got one Pin Shot though.

1.They are listening so the conversation can’t be about today’s golf.
2. There were trees ahead, so Di was taking extra care on this shot.
3. This turned out to be Marysha’s best putt of the day.
4. Ted’s anxious for the count to end so he can get a beer.
5. There were Four on Norfolk Island with high hopes.
6. Then there were three who had the good fortune to have an increase in the weight of their return luggage.
The next game is at Gatton on Monday 6th March and the Timesheet is now available at Rosewood.
