Event 3 – Lowood

Officially 32 degrees but with the extreme humidity, conditions were quite uncomfortable unless shade was sought under a tree when possible. Thank goodness for the breeze which helped a lot.

The field finished up at 84(62men and 22 ladies) with a couple of late nominations. The field moved as well as could be expected with the numbers and the time taken to locate balls in the very welcome grassed rough.

What a pleasure to see the grass cover on the Fairways so soon after the rain and it will only get better. The Greens were well prepared and presented in a condition to get them through the hot months.

The Pikelets were a treat again and the club tried a couple of different lunch dishes instead of the usual roast offerings.

New member Faye Pickering made a day of it with an eagle on hole 4, a Pin Shot on the same hole and then topped the day’s scoring with 40 points. Congratulations Faye. Gary Carter also got a Pin Shot as well as a win and another new member, Monty Christie, showed mate Dave Pepper that he knew how to win also.

Photos.

1. Not such an elegant pose, but it’s still a successful measure for Gary.

2. Glen hoped that this shot got him back on to the 9th.

3. John looks surprised that the ball ended up on the 17th Green.

4. Shirley is entitled to relax after the swag of trophies brought home from Norfolk Island and a raffle win to make sure she comes back again. Graeme is happy with his result today as well.

5. Faye was elated with her first eagle and is happy to tell you about it.

The next game is at Wolston Park on Monday 24th February. It will be an 8.30am Shotgun start. The Timesheet is available at Rosewood Golf Club.
