It was a fairly hot day on the Course, but then we are now in the summer period so it is to be expected. Players overcame the heat to some degree by ensuring they carried sufficient fluid refreshments.
The field was 83(66 men and 17 ladies) a significant increase from the last game. The field had few checks to an even flow even though many had to spend time searching for balls.
The Course had a pleasingly good grass cover, but it is hoped that the height of the rough is reduced considerably by the next game here. The Greens were the expected extra height in November, and they should be in top condition in 2023.
The pre-game Tea and Coffee was eagerly sought, and a good number partook of their preference from the lunch menu after the game.
38 was the winning men’s score today, by Chris Petrohilos in Division 1 and Doug Gillett in Division 2, but only winning after a 3-way countback. Pauline Rogers took the ladies trophy with 34 points.
The next game is Closing Day for 2021 at Rosewood on Monday 22nd November. It will be an 8.30 am Shotgun Start.
