The temperatures have been a bit up and down recently and today we drew 30 degrees to go along with a clear fine day which thankfully also included a welcome breeze throughout the game.
The final number of players was 75 (57 men and 18 ladies) including one new member and play was able to get underway a bit before time. The field moved steadily with the only real pause available for a chat occurring on the second Tees.
The Course was in pretty good condition considering the current weather and it should recover well with whatever rain that comes. The Preferred Lie was appreciated, and the Greens were pretty good.
There was a surprise change to Pikelets for our arrival munch and no one confused the lunch tickets today and ordered the wrong menu.
There was certainly plenty of run on the Course and that probably helped with the scores submitted by those whose drives remained on the Fairway. Jim Daniels with 44 points was the best score of the day and Don McKee got home with 42 on a triple countback in his first game back from knee surgery. Lorraine Videroni had 42 points which left Janine Hauser to match husband Graham with a Runner Up trophy. Shot of the day was Barbara Scott’s 66cm for the Pin Shot on hole 2.

2. ‘Lucky Keith’. The ball stayed inbounds.

4. The player before him ended up in the water and Jason was determined not to follow suit.
5. Dorothy can’t believe that she missed that one. Maybe the shadow distracted her!
The next game is at Ipswich City on Monday 4th November. It will be an 8.30am Shotgun start.
