An excellent day for golf with a fine and partly cloudy day where the Temperature only got into the high 20’s. The Laidley breeze didn’t disappoint either. It arrived on time and kept conditions very comfortable. All players were in after just over three and a half hours.
The field was a low 52 (41 Men and 11 Ladies), but still five more men than an earlier game this year, probably due to the great support of our new Toogoolawah members. Included was one new member and a visitor who is a Veteran golf player from South Australia.
The Course was holding up fairly well and will be in good shape if it can get some reasonable rain. The Greens had not fully recovered from a fairly recent scarifying and putting was often a hit and hope situation.
The biscuits were late to arrive because the deliery man was held up by a traffic accident, but he was forgiven when they were finally available. The lunch offerings met everybody’s needs very well.
The outstanding effort of the day was the 41 points by Janet Hines, so she took out the Ladies trophy. Garry Rodgers used his local knowledge for the next highest score, 38 points, in Division1 and Craig Granzien in a three-way count took out the Division 2 trophy with 34 points.

1. All the cards are in so there’ll be a result soon.
2. Some very calm and relaxed discussions here on today’s efforts.
3. Our top points scorer today (sitting of course), but at least Joe got a Pin shot.
4. A happy Division 1 winner Garry R with Garry H and his Inter-state visitor Greg Jones.
The next game is at Ipswich City on Monday 6th November. It is an 8.30am Shotgun start. The Timesheet is now at Rosewood. Copies of the 2024 Programme will be available at the next two games.
