An ideal Golf Day for the Veterans Day of the Sandy Gallop week of golf, run by the club and to which the IDVGA was invited to send players. There was no queueing to register as Paul Harbers had spent Sunday getting them all ready to hand out.

The field was 108, 86 (70 men and 16 lady IDVGA members, some of whom belong to Sandy Gallop and the balance Sandy Gallop members.

The Course was in very good condition and the Greens were in excellent condition, but most found them very quick for putting and chipping to the Green. Most downhill putts finished with a good-sized return putt.

The locals (Les Smith, for the second year in a row, Bob Pfeiffer and June Schipplock) scooped the winners’ trophies. Husband and wife team, Ken and Pauline Rogers made the 18th hole their own, much to the joy of their playing partners.

The next IDVGA game is at Wolston Park on Monday 31st October, and we host the visiting Woodford players. It is a 9.00am Shotgun start to allow Woodford time to travel.
