It was an ideal day for golf with only a light breeze and the clouds were too high to produce any rain.

The field was 98 (77 men and 21 ladies) of whom 64 men and 19 ladies were IDVGA members, and we continue to give good support to this annual event.

The little bit of rain we’ve had has started to show the benefits on the Fairways, but players were thankful for the Preferred Lie as well. The Greens will take a little more time to get back to their usual standard.

Chris Petrohilos won Division 1 with 41 points on a countback from Wayne Biles. Keith Prosser’s 38 points couldn’t match Russell Brown’s 45 points but he was happy enough with his Runner-up trophy. Lyn Baker surprised many, including herself, when she amassed 42 points to finish 2 in front of Lorraine Videroni after starting the day with 5 points on the first 6 holes. Bob Mathers, Mark Butler, Rhonda Williams (first shot of the day), Ray McLeod, Ron Roberts and Russell Brown won the Pin Shot balls.

The next IDVGA game is at Lowood on Monday 28th October. It is an 8.30am Shotgun start.
