The scheduled game set down for today at Lowood was cancelled by them when they accepted the chance of Greens maintenance instead. We gratefully accepted the offer by Toogoolawah to hold the game at their Course. It was a very pleasant fine and partly cloudy day with the temperature in the mid 20’s.
Some players had made other plans soon after they were advised the game was cancelled, but 34 players (28 men and 6 ladies), turned up to play. The members of the club helped out by making enough buggies available for those who needed one.
The lack of rain affected the colour of the fairway grass, as the photos show, but there was still good grass cover on all of them and this allowed players to play their usual shots. We were advised that the Greens had been renovated, and they were a lot slower than they would normally have been.
The volunteers made us welcome with a great choice of refreshments and a number of their ladies helped out in the kitchen to make sure that all who wanted lunch were well catered for. Thanks especially to Judie Marschke who was obviously responsible for organising that.
Numbers only permitted a Sweepstakes event today but there were still Pin Shots and a Ball Rundown as well. Local player, Geoff Bailey had a field day scoring a solid 43 points to take the main trophy. Shiela Goodbun stopped the other ladies from getting the approach on Hole 3 with a fine Birdie there.

1. What a welcome! Thanks, Toogoolawah.
2. The ninth hole from the Clubhouse windows which gave a panoramic view of the surrounding countryside.
3. After the challenging fourth hole, this is the clear view of the Par 5 fifth hole.
4. Only the countback stopped Shiela from winning the Runner up trophy today.
5. Our Members from Toogoolawah sit back and enjoy a break after playing host to the rest of us today.
The next game is at Sandy Gallop on Monday 23rd October. It is an 8.30 am Shotgun start. The Timesheet is available at Rosewood Golf Club. It will be run by the Club as part of their Week of Golf.
