The early weather reports of 90% chance of showers from late morning didn’t deter any players from playing. As it was, there was no rain and the conditions were ideal. Play got under way 10 minutes early and the field moved consistently allowing for an earlier finish.
The field today was 111 (90 men and 21 ladies), only 5 fewer than the first game in March. It looked like being over 120 but ten names had been placed on the Timesheet twice.
The recent rain certainly had the Course in top shape with players particularly enjoying the grass covered Fairway shots, a great incentive to try to keep out of the rough. The Greens were great to putt on after getting past the bunkers which protect a few of them.
The Tea and Coffee welcome on arrival was appreciated and the two meals the Chef had on the menu after the game really hit the spot.
In this game 19 players played to their handicap or better, a big improvement on the 4 who did so in March, an indication of the playability of the Course today. The winners in all Divisions only got there by one point. Helen Gilbert’s 43 pipped Shiela Goodbun, Ian McComb needed 42 to edge out Keith Sippell and John Hafner used his Home Course knowledge to score 38 to keep Bryan Kathage at bay.

1. Those not putting had an opportunity to chat.
2. There was still a few to arrive by the lineup of waiting buggies.
3. Rod said his shot from this elevated Tee was the only highlight of the day.
4. He put it there, so he made the most of it and put the next one close to the Pin.
The next game will be at Sandy Gallop on Monday 25th October. It will be run by Sandy Gallop Golf Club as a part of their annual Week of Golf. The Timesheet will be located at Rosewood Golf Club as usual. It is an 8.30am Shotgun start.
