Event 25 – Laidley

The weather forecast was for showers, most likely in the morning or afternoon. That told us a lot. It proved to be true for the early arrivals who had light showers for most of their journey. They then cleared away and a perfectly overcast day followed for all but half an hour or so of sunshine near the end of the game. One up for the good guys.

The surprisingy thing though, was that with the possibility of rain, of the 65 on the Timesheet, 64 arrived and then one late entry brought the number back to 65, (50 Men and 15 Ladies). These included one player from North Brisbane.

The Course continues to improve and the staff have done a great job getting it to the good standard it has reached. The Greens were still recovering from recent maintenance and putting was a bit of a lottery in some areas.

The biscuits didn’t take long to disappear with the hot tea and coffee, and the three choices on the lunch menu made choosing one a bit of a problem, but all chosen were greatly enjoyed.

The Ladies led the scoring today with Ros Englund showing the way from Pam Lane. Both had 42 points. Les Smith almost made the 40’s with his 39 in Division 1, and another countback was necessary in Division 2 when Ivan Henry and Bob Mathers returned 36’s. Ivan got the nod.

Photos. None today.

The next game is at Sandy Gallop on Monday 24th October. It is an 8.30am Shotgun start and will be run by Sandy Gallop. The Timesheet is at Rosewood Golf Club.
