What a day! While the temperature was ideal the strong wind made the day very challenging, and the eye drops would have been readily applied at home to soothe its effect for the duration of the game.
The field contained 100 players (87 men and 13 ladies) almost identical to the number last year, helped by the adequate supply of Club Buggies to cater for our needs.
After recent games where grass cover was extremely limited, the Course had good grass cover even though the option of using a preferred lie would have been welcome in many areas. The Greens were in very good condition and gave a smooth roll to the hole.
The chef, who usually has Monday off, came in for the day and we were offered the regular daily menu which suited all needs. The catering staff had set up the welcoming Tea and Coffee facilities and even had some Breakfast offerings. Thanks for the efforts Wolston Park.
The ladies took the honours today with Jan Stewart returning 40 points, the best score of the day. The best the men could return were a 37 by Ron Roberts and a 36 by Charles Stevenson. Ross Cruice was delighted to at last take a Pinshot with his 472cm on the 10th hole.

1. Why doesn’t Jim need his putter on this Green?
2. Ken put some thought into this shot and the effort paid off.
3. Great Fairway shot but we won’t mention the Greens.
4. If you know this Course, you’ll know whether Glenn is behind or in front of the Ladies markers.
5. At least two of this group won a ball today.
The next game will be at Toowoomba City on Monday 23rd September. Remember, it is an 8.30am Shotgun start. Don’t forget to take your 2019 Membership cards for Clubhouse benefits.
