1st Round of the 2021 Championships

A clear sky and a very comfortable temperature were the conditions for some great scoring, and there were plenty of very satisfied players taking confidence into the 2nd Round.
The field was 85 (65 Men and 20 Ladies), brought about by the date changes and the lowest support for the event by men in recent years. There was one new member in that number and 8 men and 7 ladies handed in Stableford scorecards.
Considering that the Course maintenance was the result of Rosewood member effort, which was remarkable, the Course couldn’t have been in better condition.. The Greens were being nursed through the colder months and had varying length cuts which players had to take into account.
Thanks to the efforts of Mary Gibson, players enjoyed Hamburger lunches. With no Presentations, there were still a good number to enjoy them.
Sarah Erith’s 42 points should have been the basis for a good gross score except for the no-score on hole 4. That left Shirley Luhrman and Angie Arumugam to finish with equal best ladies nett score. What will Des Davies with a nett 67 and Ray McLeod and Cameron Powell with Gross scores of 76 and 77 do at Brisbane River if they can score like this at Rosewood?
