Fine and hot today with the temperature one degree shy of 40 degrees. Luckily everyone kept hydrated and with the slightly earlier hit-off and keeping play moving, all finished before the worst of it.
The field today was 102 (79 men and 23 ladies), 24 down on the same game last year. This included 24 renewals and 3 new members. Paul Brennan had the cards printed again and had to weather quite a few questions about handicap changes under the new system.
The Course is starting to get full grass cover with the continuing rain. The Greens were in very good condition and most players found them very quick.
The welcoming Tea and biscuits were well received and even with the extreme heat of the day the hamburgers sold well.
Local lad Wayne Biles had the only score in the 40’s and this gave him a three shot win over clubmate, Ivan Keen. New member Dave Pepper followed his win last week with another one today in Division 2 over local Wayne Delaney, and Pam Lane won the Ladies trophy from yet another local, Lorraine Videroni. The Division 1 Pin Shot on the 18th didn’t have any takers today.
Photos.
1. A tricky shot downhill on the 11th Risto hoped would have made the Green.
2. Cameron put plenty into this on the 2nd.
3. Another wide one Wayne, but this one made the Green on the 1st.
4. Those in the queue to put the cards in found it best to be patient to get the job done.
5. All new this year and relaxing after their second game with us.
The next game is at Lowood on Monday 17th February. It will be an 8.30am Shotgun start. The Timesheet is now out.
