Event 3 – Lowood

Cloud Cover and a steady breeze all day kept playing conditions most enjoyable.

The field finished up at 88(66men and 22 ladies). Of these, ten were members renewing membership and three were new members. Players were aware of the big numbers and kept play moving so that we finished in a reasonable time for the size of the field.

It was a shock to see the low level of water in the dams, but those looking after the Course have done well to have it so well prepared and maintained. The Greens were in great shape except for some repair areas.

The Pikelets were again well received and the sit-down lunch really made players feel welcome and made them feel that, perhaps with luck, our Golf could be getting back to normal.

Shiela Goodbun and Monty Christie both had wins by the single point, but Les Smith got his on countback. Players are asked to carefully check their playing handicaps each game as we had the unpleasant task of having to inform six players that they had to be disqualified for playing off too high a handicap, in five cases by one and in the other case by four.

Photos:

1. Arthur retrieving his ball after a chip in on the tenth.

2.Plenty of concentration went into this Tee shot of Jeff’s on the first.

3. John wanted this shot out of the way to successfully play a good Tee shot on the fifth.

4. A Runner Up, two ball rundowns and a Lucky Numbers winner in this group.

5. No such luck for this group, but still happy about the day.

The next game is at Laidley on Monday 22nd February. It will be an 8.30am Shotgun start. The Timesheet is available at Rosewood Golf Club.
