A very cold Ipswich morning caused all players to rug up prior to the game. However, once on the Course, the temperature crept to a very enjoyable 22 degrees, only tempered by a sneaky breeze later in the game.
The field today was 55(45 men and 10 ladies), only slightly more than at the last game, after early on having 65 on the Timesheet. It is to be hoped that the shortage of players in our fields will soon revert to some of the figures we reached prior to Covid.
The Course was in very fine condition with only a few areas showing damages caused after recent rain. The Greens were good to play where players managed the slopes and the speed.
The Urn was eagerly sought prior to play as were the burgers after play, to the extent that more had to be accessed for the last half dozen players.
Locals took three of the six major trophies today. Ros Englund and Lorraine Videroni shut out the other ladies and Ivan Henry took Division 2. Bill Naoum, with 37 points, the best score of the day, took out Division 1.

2.Allan Alloway was lucy his ball finished here on the 9th, otherwise it would have run right to the bottom of the slope.
The next game is at Ipswich on Monday 22nd August and is Round 1 of the Queensland Country Bank 2022 Championships. It will be an 8.30am Shotgun start. (See the further details in the ‘Notices’ section of this website.) The Timesheet is now out at Rosewood.
