Event 19 – Lowood

What a beautiful day.  Just days after strong winds and cold weather (with snow just over the boarder) on the weekend, today was absolutely fabulous.   I think after today we might have seen the end of winter and the start of spring.

Good weather and an excellently prepared fairways and greens, lead to some very good scores today.  Although smaller than last week, but still excellent field of 64 (53 men, 11 Ladies) started today.

Special congratulations to John Comp on his 354 metres EAGLE on the Par 4 12th hole.

Strong competition amongst the Ladies today with; poor Leann’s score of 38 points not even good enough for the Runner’s Up prize.  Well done to Angie (42pts) and Janine (39pts) today.

The men’s competition was also well contested with over 60% of the men’s field scoring 30 points or more.  Well done to Murray; Div 1 winner (39pts), Richard; Div 2 winner (39pts) and Gerard; Div 3 winner (37pts).

Congratulations to all winners.

Photo’s:

  1.  Monty Christie is probably thinking that perhaps he should take the Ute for a “practice Drive”.  He was not happy with his Drive off the tee here.
  2. Brett Willis considering a cunning approach shot to the 9/18th Green.
  3. But this beautiful creature seems to have his own cunning plan.
  4. Think you got “Out Foxed” on that shot Brett!
  5. I think Bruce Lowe may have wished he re-thought this shot.   As the story goes, Bruce has an aversion to standing in the water, so thought this backhand shot was the way to go.  Having seen the result; lots and lots of mud splashed up on to his pants and shirt, I can only assume the ball did not go as far as he hoped.  Bad luck Bruce.  Good for laugh though.
  6. Com ‘on Graham / Girls.  Give Ted some room to have his putt.
