Event 17 – Sandy Gallop

A pleasant day for golf even though it looked like rain early and some later finishers got slightly wet early in the afternoon.

The field was a lowly 82 (66 men and 16 ladies), the smallest field here for some time. Included in this number were two renewal members.

The Course has held up well in the drier conditions, but the Preferred Lie was appreciated in many areas on the Fairways. The Greens were, as usual, in very good condition.

Morning Refreshments and the freshly cooked Hamburgers went down well once again.

Gary Carter’s 43 points were by far the best of the day and his score was the only one in the 40’s. New member, Ross Hale did as so many new members do, and that is win his Division at one of his first games, but only after surviving a countback. June Nicholls registered a successful return by taking the Ladies trophy.

Photos. Sorry, no photos today, the camera is on Interstate duty.

The next game is at Brisbane River on Monday 22nd July. It will be an 8.30am Shotgun start.
