Winter clothing was all the go for all but the hardy on a mostly cloudy and bleak day. It certainly was a cool start to the day, but even without the sun it warmed during play. The forecast of showers proved to be no more than about 10 drops late in play.
The best number of players today after those on Opening Day,78 (60 men and 18 ladies). They included 2 from Woodford, 2 from Caboolture and 4 from Toogoolawah, 2 of whom joined as new members.
The Course has dried out considerably since the last game and even though it still has good cover, some good rain is now needed to bring it back to where it was. The Greens, with watering, have weathered well but the moisture in front of them kept a lot of running approach shots short.
We entered the Clubhouse with the air conditioning on and the urn boiling to offset the pretty cool outside temperature. Lunch was again freshly made sandwiches, and they were popular and there were none left over.
Shirley Morgan’s 37 points held out fellow local, Di Stanley by a point. The men needed a score in the 40’s to win and John Hafner’s 43 and Kev Niemeyer’s 40 were the necessary scores to do so. Better scores were needed to win a ball in the Ball Rundown as well.

1. These plants add a new dimension to the testing 14th hole.
2. Jerry’s made up his mind where he will be playing his next shot.
3. Tony may have mastered the Woodford Course, but he took a lot of care with quite a few of his shots at Rosewood.
4. Craig was amazed at how well he hit this shot.
The next game will be held at Lowood on Monday 24th July. It will be an 8.30am Shotgun start. The Timesheet for this game is available at Rosewood Golf Club
