A cold morning was predicted and the temperature experienced by the early arrivals was 1 degree, but the clear skies soon saw this increased to ideal conditions for the whole game.
Players numbered 60 (47 men and 13 ladies), which included one new member. The field moved very well especially in the area near the section which held the Pony Club meet on the weekend. With handicapper John Hunter away for a couple of weeks, we appreciate wife Lorraine’s help in getting the scores entered for Tuesday’s game.
The Course looked as well as we’ve ever seen it and the volunteers had it in top shape. The Greens played to their usual good standard also.
The fresh scones and cakes were well in demand before the game, and then after it the Honey Soy Pork and hot vegetables and sweets were a real treat. The Clubhouse and Course volunteers certainly know how to make us welcome.
Relatively new members, Dave Wigley and Brett Sweeting won the men’s events. Dave with the outstanding score of 42 points and Brett with his second win with 36 points. Both of Brett’s wins were from three-way tie countbacks. Shirley Luhrman was the lady’s winner. Today’s new member, Trevor Adams, won one of the Pin shots.
Photos.
1. Some chainsaw work has provided some sought after homes for the local lorikeets.
2. Jim showed us his new acquisition but was a bit careless picking the parking spot.
3. Lyle should know this Course like the back of his Driver by now.
4. Gary and Rod were happy to take the time for this shot.
5. No, Shirley didn’t miss the ball, she’s getting the line right for a very tricky putt.
The next game is at Brisbane River on Monday 26th July. The Timesheet is now available. The following game is at City in Toowoomba on 2nd August and the Timesheet will be out at Brisbane River.
