The three degrees start to the day ushered in a fine clear day with only a slight breeze to help locate the flags. All players allowed plenty of time to avoid traffic delays and play got under way on time.
The field today was 78 (64 men and 14 ladies), with a good number having their first game here or the first for some time. We had one player renewing membership, one new player and a visitor who was impressed with the group and a new membership is a distinct possibility.
The Course was in excellent condition which confirmed recently received reports on it, and the Greens presented challenges that the locals probably handled with ease. Richard Winrow solved that problem on the new par three 7th Green by hitting it straight in the hole. Congratulations Richard.
Registration took place in the ground floor meeting room, and it was good for the warmth, the placement of the urn and biscuits, and the location of the Handicap sheets, the maps of the Course layout and the lucky numbers. Cards were returned to the box near the upstairs bar and the sausage sizzle put on by the Club on the patio supplemented the other Bistro and Bar food on offer.
It was the Ladies and the Division 2 men who took the scoring honours today, with wins to Angie Arumugam and Jason Kerr, both with 37 points. Chris Petrohilos won the 3-way countback to win Division 1 with 35 points. Richard Winrow supplemented his Hole in One trophy with a win in the Lucky Numbers, a ball in the rundown and his share in the 7th hole Pin Shot balls.

The next game will be at Laidley on Monday 5th May. It will be an 8.30am Shotgun start.
