Some heavy rain overnight threatened to make a wet day for all. However, right on time the rain cleared, and all had a pleasant day of golf with bright blue skies with the sun warmly welcomed by all. However, the overnight rain meant that the course was extremely wet, with little to no roll out of many balls regardless of whether they landed on the fairway or the green. Lots of “plugged balls” day. Thank goodness we had preferred lie.
Today was also the first time the association decided to trial the use of the MiScorce computerised scoring system at Rosewood. Thanks to ALL the team at Rosewood Golf Club for their support in assuring that all cards were printed and the help with entering the all the results into the computer tablets in the club house. Although some teething issues occurred, on the whole, I think the trial went well and was widely accepted by most players today. Future trails of direct use of club’s computer systems for scoring any future associations event is yet to confirmed, and most likely remain so until we are able to ensure enough computer terminals are available to allow quick and easy uploading of all scores at the end of the game.
Despite the early threatening weather, a good turnout with 64 players, (55 men and 9 ladies) hitting off today. This was a little down on that expected with some patient player electing to not risk the weather.
Congratulations to John Piccini with his score of 37 points. This was an outstanding effort considering that he was the only person playing to or better than their Daily Handicap.

Photos: Yippee; I did remember to take some photos today.
- Bob Marshall wondering if his “fully plugged Ball” on the approach to the 15th would have gone on for a hole-in-one if it wasn’t for the overnight rain? Sorry Bob, I can tell you from local experience if it was dry, it would have missed the green long (hehehehe!).
- Geoff Bailey confirming his NTP win on the 11th.
- John Hafner (Div 1) winner, with Club Captain Bob Carter claiming credit for some of John’s win as is Marker. (score check???)
- Members waiting their ball in the rundown from John.
- The other half of the room wondering where their ball rundown prize was!
