Trophy Conditions:

All players will receive a golf ball at Registration on Day 1 of the Championships and consequently, there will not be a Ball Rundown on Day 1.
Players may win only one of the above trophies, but there will be no restriction on the number of Nearest the Pin prizes won. Winners of any of the above events will not be included in the Day 2 Ball Run Down.

Seniors: (70 years and under 80 years)
36 Hole Nett – Winners (Male & Female)

Elders: (80 years and over)
36 Hole Nett – Winners (Male & Female). (Numbers permitting).

Trophy Presentation:

All Trophies will be presented after the completion of Round 2, except that Day 1 Nearest the Pin balls may be given out on Day 1 if recipients are present when the markers are returned.

The Competition:

(a) The Competition will be a 36 Hole Stroke event played as two 18 Hole Rounds as per the Fixture Programme, unless the Committee deems otherwise.
The Men’s competition will be played in two Divisions (refer to “Conditions of Play”).

(b) A daily 18 hole Stableford Competition will be held for those players electing to play Stableford Rounds on one or both days, and for those on either day who choose to submit incomplete Stroke Round scores, but who enter a stableford score. Also, a player may choose to play only Day1 or Day 2.

Eligibility:

While all members are able to play for the daily trophies in the Championship rounds, to be eligible to play for any of the 36 Hole Championship events, a player must have competed in a minimum of three Association home or away games in the current 2024 season. Any long-standing player who cannot meet the eligibility requirement because of illness etc., may submit a request for a waiver of this eligibility requirement in writing to the Captain for consideration by the Match Committee. The Match Committee decision will be final. Note: As indicated above, non-eligibility for the 36 hole events does not exclude a player from playing in the daily 18 Hole events.

Conditions of Play:

  1. a) Tee off will be according to the Time sheet or as called by the Starter.
    b) Current Exact Handicaps will be used on Day 1 of the competition with Playing Handicaps being as determined by the Slope Ratings at Rosewood. These Handicaps will be retained for the games played on Day 2. Those only playing on Day 2 will use their Exact Handicap on that day.
    c) There will be two Divisions for the Men’s competition. The handicap allocation for Divisions will be determined from player’s Exact Handicaps after hit-off on the first day’s play, when all players have registered, by allocating approximately equal numbers to each Division.
    Division 1 – Up to Handicap 18; Division 2 – Handicaps 19 and over).
    d) The Champions will be the man and lady player with the best 36 Hole Nett scores.
    e) In the event of a Tie in any of the events, the winner will be decided by countback.
    f) Age on the first day of Championship play will be used for the ‘Age’ events.
    g) The Rules of Golf, the Local Rules of the Rosewood Golf Club and any Rules determined by the Captain, shall be the rules of play for the duration of this competition.
    h) The Commitee reserves the right to curtail play at any time in the interests of the health or welfare of our senior members.
    i) In the event that play on one of the scheduled dates is not able to commence or has to be stopped for any reason, an alternate date will be chosen (if possible) at the discretion of the Committee.
    j) All complaints must be in the hands of the Match Representative, in writing, within fifteen (15) minutes of the completion of the Round by the last group on either day.
    k) The Match Representative for the competition will be the Captain, Bob Carter, or in his absence, a nominated Executive member.
