This game was not able to be played because the heavy widespread rain in recent days throughout the District has waterlogged the Course to such an extent that the Esk Committee has advised that it would be unplayable on the above date. In addition, the restrictions to travel because of road closures would have made travel impossible for many players. See photo of the Course as supplied by Lyle Robson’s wife, Lynne. Thanks to them both for paddling over to the Course to take it and send it to us.
The Club had a “10 party” working bee on the Wednesday 16th to prepare the Course for our visit, and I believe that after their efforts it was reported to be in the best condition it has been recent times. To those who participated we extend sincere thanks for the continuing support and hospitality we receive from the members of the club. Let’s us hope that Monday 16th September is fine for our next Esk game.
The next game is at Gailes Golf Club on Monday 7th March and the Timesheet is now available at Rosewood Golf Club. Many were able to get their names down at Lowood, but please be aware that access to the Club by phone will depend on the presence of staff if there is no Competition or Social play at the Course. If you haven’t been able to get your name or the name of your group entered on the Timesheet by Saturday, feel free to contact the Captain or President to do it for you.
